Principal Component Analysis: A Presentation by David Dorran

We were delighted to welcome Professor David Dorran from TU Dublin to our course this week. On Wednesday, May 6, Professor Dorran led a guest lecture on Principal Component Analysis (PCA), a fundamental technique in data and signal processing.

He introduced PCA using a small, carefully constructed dataset, walking students through each step with remarkable clarity. No concept was left unclear before moving on to the next. Following the lecture, students worked on a lab assignment, during which Professor Dorran remained on hand to offer guidance, answer questions, and support everyone individually.

We are truly grateful for his time, patience, and excellent teaching. A very heartfelt thank you to Professor Dorran for such a valuable and engaging session.
